There are two worlds we inhabit, whether we realise it or not, said my mentor during Part 2 of my Beyond Success course (Part 1 was What if success isn’t a thing?).
This second part of the beyond success journey has been a revelation – a shift from doing things “right” to discovering what really matters.
The phrase beyond success perfectly describes what this journey is all about.
World 1: The right way to be | World 2: Infinite potential |
Characteristics Shoulds and shouldn’ts, better and worse, punishment and reward, good and bad, right and wrong, moral and immoral, do’s and don’ts, normal and abnormal, winners and losers, guilt and shame, us and them, I and you, judgments and validation, approval and disappointment. | Characteristics What I want, what I know, common sense, truth, delight, alignment, presence, naturalness, flow, ease, saying yes, saying no, possibilities, invitations, awareness, fun, limitless, playfulness, creativity, freedom, peace, love, trust, connection, gratitude. |
Skills required Know the rules, be driven, work, grit, discipline, commitment, manipulate, skills, structure, knowledge, and control. | Skills required Trust, letting go, listening, not knowing, curiosity, being ourselves, courage, acceptance, enthusiasm; tools: common sense, knowing, wanting. |

World One is rule-based, exhausting, and full of pressure to get things “right.” In World Two – the heart of what it means to live beyond success – we find expansiveness, playfulness, and a deeper connection to what we truly want and know.
Top 5 takeaways from Beyond Success: Part Two
We’re made to live life our wayTrying to fit in or follow the rules may feel safe, but it’s exhausting. Life becomes easier when we stop living by other people’s standards and start creating our own version of beyond success.
It’s easier to create what you really want. Focusing on what you genuinely want - not what you think you can get - makes creation simpler, lighter, and more joyful. When you live beyond success, you stop striving and start allowing.
You can choose where to liveWe often assume World One is “real life”, but we can notice when we’re there and step into World Two. In World Two, we’re already whole, already enough, and able to create without fixing ourselves first – this is true beyond success.
Wanting is simple, fun, and clean. True wanting is natural, aligned, and usually full of love. It’s different from craving, which mixes desire with insecurity. Following what we genuinely want keeps life light and playful – the essence of beyond success.
Fun is the path. One sentence really landed for me: “If I don’t think there’s a way it needs to turn out for me to be okay, I can just have fun with it.”
That’s the invitation of World Two – to use our knowing, wanting, and common sense to create, enjoy, and engage with life fully – to truly live beyond success.
Question for you
Which world are you living in most of the time?
Are you in World One, trying to get it “right” all the time, or are you aware of moments in that second world – when you’re living life your way, and embracing infinite possibility?
If you’d like to explore living in World Two, stepping into your infinite potential, and creating with ease and joy, let’s see what’s possible for you.
